so the FBI have set up an automated account to tweet out things that get released thru Freedom Of Information Act requests @/FBIRecordsVault. it does this automatically with no human supervision

someone apparently did a FOIA request for the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. and so the bot account, untended, automatically tweeted out a link to a PDF of that notorious antisemitic text

but it's not clear when you look at it that it's a bot, and it's also not clear . . . what the point of it even is, so at first it looks a lot like the FBI is tweeting out incendiary antisemitic conspiracy theories strongly associated with Nazis

which is, uh! very not good!!!

this probs counts as algorithmic harm, at least initially, but wils also probs embolden vicious antisemites and make 'em think the US gov is on their side (which isn't necessarily wrong!) so the whole thing is a giant train wreck, and no one is going to take accountability for it

anyway, if you know any other Online Jews who are Stressed right now, this . . . might have something to do with why!!!

and if yr freaked out by this: i guess know that it was not done consciously by a Nazi in the FBI? like obvs it's not...good...but it's more "bot tweeting every word gets to a slur" than "government employee deliberately spreads Nazi propaganda", at least from what we know so far
