What kind of footwear should you have in your wardrobe?
Depends...on your style, taste, the climate you live in and a bunch of other factors.
But here are three options I recommend as a good start:

1) Dress Shoes - a pair of dark brown oxfords.

Versatility. Dark brown is formal enough to pair with your business wear but casual enough you could still wear with jeans.

I prefer a cap toe oxford myself but there are plenty of other options:

The key is making sure you choose a quality option that is made out of full grain leather and is leather lined.
These will look really sharp when your wear them with jeans or dress them up with a suit.

No problem - go with grey instead. Just as versatile.
