1/4 There is good and bad side of social media and it all depends on how we make use of it. For me, it’s a comfortable way of being able to share some of my thoughts no matter how bizarre they may seem. I’ve always been extremely shy of public speaking.
2/4 I am traumatised when someone puts me under the spotlight and asks me a question and my mind becomes completely numb and all i can do is smile while i see a flicker of disappointment on the faces of people who expect me to deliver a great speech...
3/4 My only comfort is in remembering my father’s words when someone told him about my mother that she hesitated to give a speech. He told them that why do you assume that giving a speech is compulsory to be a good human being. She’s shy and doesn’t want to.
4/4 I have tried so many times to explain this to people who pressurise my children who are also shy and only talk in close circles or when they don’t feel the pressure. Please let people be who they are. Let children feel comfortable and loved. That’s what helps them bloom.
