My favorite budget differentials that are going under the radar 📡 (Thread) 💭

The feeling of landing big points from a differential could be one of the best feelings in FPL.

Therefore, depending on fixtures obvs, I have compiled my 5 favorite differentials currently ⤵️
1. Joao Cancelo (ÂŁ5.5) - Manchester City (1.0%)

After starting the last 4 games for Man City in all competitions with both Mendy and Zinchenko sitting on the bench I think Cancelo might be one of the few Pep roulette anomalies this season if he keeps this up. Pep has...
struggled to find a left-back that he can trust with Zinchenko not being good enough and Mendy being extremely inconsistent.

It’s therefore very intriguing that since the restart Pep has talked very highly of Cancelo calling him the best player in the entire squad in...
training, that he is a completely different individual now than when he arrived and that if he continues like this he will help them a lot in the next seasons.

He plays for a defense that kept the most clean sheets last season and I think that will increase this season with...
the addition of Ake and very possibly Koulibaly. When he starts he is also a real assist threat, better than Walker who will cost you 0.5 more. Since the restart, Cancelo was 3rd in big chances created and xA per start out of all defenders. A bit of a gamble but could be amazing!
2. Che Adams (ÂŁ6.0) - Southampton (2.1%)

Adams maybe hasn’t gone as much under the radar in the community but he is less owned than players like his teammate Obafemi and I believe Adams can be of great value. After a great season in Birmingham scoring 22 goals, Adams was...
horrendous at the start of last season for you that don't remember and was 1st in the league in big chances missed for a while but at the end of the season where he showed great potential. With Ings being priced 8.5, managers may be unsure whether going for the cheaper Adams...
is worth it or not. Based on the last season there is definitely a case to be made for Adams over Ings with Adams being 2nd for shots in the box and shots on target in the last 3 GWs if you look at forwards less than 9.5. His and Ings stats are very similar over that period.
3. Jack Harrison (ÂŁ5.5) - Leeds Utd (1.6%)

A bit of a surprise to be on this list maybe but I think Jack Harrison has the potential to become a great FPL asset this season. You may think that 6 goals and 8 assists in the Championship doesn’t sound amazing but this pick...
builds a lot on the fact that Leeds need to sign a new striker that’s more clinical than Bamford for Harrison to become a valuable option imo.

Leeds created by far the most big chances in the league last season and the man that created the most for Leeds was Harrison with 17.
However he isn’t only a passer, consistently getting into the box and despite the fact that he missed 12 big chances himself the underlying stats are really there so if Leeds sign a new striker and Harrison improves on his finishing in the PL, 5.5 will be an absolute steal!
4. Illan Meslier (ÂŁ4.5) - Leeds Utd (2.2%)

Another Leeds player comes in on this list, this time it’s the goalkeeper Meslier. Right now he is less owned than both his other goalkeeper teammates in Casilla and Miazek despite being predicted by almost every Leeds fan to start...
the season. That sort of tells you that he is very underrated by us FPL managers but as with Harrison, this pick builds on another factor. Leeds need to sign a centre-back to replace Ben White.

I don’t think Brighton will sell him so to find a replacement is key. Because if...
they do, Leeds showed us last season that they are a brilliant defensive team, letting in way less goals than Sheffield Utd did in the Championship with Meslier keeping 7 clean sheets in his 10 appearences while averaging an outstanding save % of 83%. The best save % in...
in the PL last season belonged to Lloris with 80% so the inexperience of the young Meslier doesn’t seem to bother him. Could he potentially become the same level as him and be the next Lloris? Who knows... 🤷‍♂️
5. Tariq Lamptey (ÂŁ4.5) - Brighton (4.1%)

I talked about Lamptey in my last thread so won’t spend too much time talking about him but I am still convinced of the idea that Brighton will play a 3 at the back this season with Potter having used it a lot back in Sweden and with...
so many centre-backs at his disposal it feels like the most logical choice. Lamptey will be pushed out as a wing-back which I think will fit him perfectly since he is so quick and good on the ball.

With only an aging Montoya as competition the starts should be many for an...
otherwise rotation prone Brighton team. Among 4.5 DEFs he is 1st since the lockdown in xA and big chances created which will probably improve with him being in a more advanced role. The only worry is that Brighton’s defense was weak last season but hopefully White can help them.
Please let me know if you agreed/disagreed with any of my selections and I am very glad if you maybe learned something new about these differentials that everyone might not know everything about 😁

Have a great rest of your day! 👋
