This morning I spent an hour on the phone w another senior leader in my agency talking about how we can be more proactive in anti-racist training w our trainee officers—was great b/c we share the goal!

As part of it, talked about requiring them all to read the NYT 1619 project as a starting point

Also going to look at issuing & requiring them to read “Ghettocide” by Leovy

There are other great books & some damning DOJ reports on racism in American policing I can issue
