Maybe in a different scenario, Jeremy Colliton is a good NHL coach, but it's not working here. He doesn't have the respect of the core and most of the important young players, aside from Dach (who did it on his own), flatted or declined in their development this season.
The future core players of this team (Debrincat, Dach, Boqvist, Mitchell, etc) are too important. You can't give him another year. I know it sounds like a knee jerk reaction to a series loss, but what does he do well? What do the players say about him?
When people praise him, they say he's a great communicator, but do the players feel that way? It doesn't appear so.
I should add too...the term "tough shit" could be used to the players that don't like him. You're the player. He's the coach. Do your job. But with this core basically un-movable, and the Hawks don't have a guy up top with the personality to tell the players to suck it up.
I guess an alternative to saying "suck it up" is not firing him, right? It basically says it for you.
One more thing. My saying he might not have the respect of the core is based on comments players have made. Keith on the first Chiclets podcast interview, Seabrook. Body language things add to that, but they're absolutely not the basis of my opinion.
