BU today decided to republish my IHE article “False-advertising and the In-Person Experience.” Thank you. The nasty, anonymous comments have started. They should publish all comments. If anybody feels like providing some contrasting comments, please do! http://www.bu.edu/articles/2020/pov-false-advertising-and-the-in-person-experience/#comments
This is the first time that BU Today has published (or linked to) a piece by a faculty member that is critical of BU’s policy for the Fall. The only comparable piece is PhD candidate Emily Chua’s excellent earlier “BU Should Go Fully Online This Fall.” https://www.bu.edu/articles/2020/why-bu-should-go-fully-online-this-fall/
I should say, for anyone thinking of replying, I’m actually fine with people commenting anonymously. I was just surprised by the vitriol.
I have now replied to Betsey Trotwood (not her real name, unless her parents really loved Dickens and were lucky to share a family name with one of his characters): http://www.bu.edu/articles/2020/pov-false-advertising-and-the-in-person-experience/#comment-7373233
