Why do you go search in the forest?
The one who dwells in all (Sarab Nivasi), the one who is ever unattached (Sada Alepa), is always immersed together with you (Tohi Sang Samayi).

This composition by Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, just like his other writings, sweetly expresses the highest philosophies. He argues against the millennia-long tradition of ascetics who have renounced the material world, "to go to the forest," in search of Enlightenment.
But why dissociate from the world? The Pure Sat-Chit-Ananda who you are searching for, is with you always!
[just as] The fragrance (Bas) which resides (Basat) within a flower (Puhap), the reflection (Chaai) within the mirror (Mukur)

Just like that, Hari resides constantly (Nirantar), O Brother just search within you (Ghat)!
As inseparable as the fragrance is from the flower, as the reflection is in the mirror, so inseparable are you from your Lord.

The outer and the inner (Bheetar) know as One, this is what the wisdom of the Guru tells.
O Servant Nanak, without recognising yourself, the moss of delusion (Bhram ki Kai) is not cleansed.

Note how the Guru has said "Aapa Cheenai," of "recognising yourself."
Who are you? You are the All.
However you do not realise this and your pursuit is to be at One, to be free from this illusion of existence.
But merely going to the forest won't help.
