Does it concern anyone else that besides a very small handful of incumbents that there are an even smaller handful of #NBElection candidates who are both women & mothers? 1/ #nbpoli
So many mothers focused right now on New Brunswick’s #SafeSeptember return to school and all the inequitable extra responsibilities of pandemic on top of the day-to-day. 2/ #nbpoli #nbelection
Women and Mothers, who are often devalued and dismissed, bring another perspective to the table. We need these voices helping to shape policies which affect the majority of our #NewBrunswick population. 3/ #nbelection #nbpoli
Women and Mothers often don’t have access to the capital necessary to run a campaign. Even less so now that party coffers are pretty low for all parties. Now toss in pay inequities and women & mothers have even less access to the required finances to run in #NBelection 4/ #nbpoli
With too few women & mothers in the #NB legislature policies (or lack of action) hurt women, children and families such as lack of: social housing, safe access ( #axe8420), EAs in schools, funded food programs at schools, mental health & addiction services 5/ #nbpoli #nbelection
With such a short election timeline it gives women and mothers less opportunity to raise the necessary funds and the legwork needed to meet many people in large ridings as it is expensive to have signs, decals, sponsored social media posts, ads, etc needed 6/ #nbelection #nbpoli
We need the voices of women & mothers in #NewBrunswick politics who will represent the unheard voices of other women, mothers, children and families. I applaud the uphill battle of those women & mothers who have entered the race to represent us. 7/ #nbelection #nbpoli
