Good to see the @NatInfraCom using @AuroraER_Oxford research to remove a few old canards from the debate and advocate a more rapid deployment of renewables by 2030 than before, pretty much mirroring @theCCCuk advice to take electricity grid intensity below 100g CO2 per KWh
This modest change is welcome and a no regret option, preventing a stalling in ambition/delivery while we await eggs on nuclear and whether hydrogen or electricity is really best for heating.
Would be a shame if this relatively modest ambition was the limit of foresight at @beisgovuk. In a decarbonising Europe, UK resource and North Sea space should be seen as an opportunity to supply energy (electrons or H2). Needs to be planned for now.
