1/ A shocking film on the UK's offshore empire of financial secrecy which hides trillions from taxation. Through this empire the UK is the world's largest tax haven provider. Many leading Brexiters including Arron Banks and Rees-Mogg have assets offshore.

2/ Tax havens, such as the world-beating network run by the UK are crippling democratic governments, leading to public dissatisfaction that in the longer run will destroy democracy.

3/ Dealing with tax havens is very hard, because if one tax haven is closed down money will move to others. To have a significant impact would seem to require a radical clampdown by an economy so large & powerful that it cannot be by-passed by tax averse businesses & individuals.

4/ The EU is one such economy, but it has member states which operate as tax havens or have partially tax haven economies, and they have repeatedly held back reform. The USA is second only to the UK as a tax haven provider. Massive international grassroots pressure is needed.

5/ It's a big ask. We need nothing less than a massive international grassroots movement dedicated to the eradication of tax havens. The good thing is around 95% of the world's population has a very strong vested interest in eradicating these parasites.
