#OnThisDay in 1900,the first and the only #Cricket match in #Olympics took place over 2 days between Great Britain & France.

Some oddities of that match-
1. By mutual consent 12 members were playing on each side

2. None of the teams were selected by the respective nation.
The French team were mostly of British origin

3. None of them knew they were playing in Olympics. It was retrospectively designated as an Olympic game in 1912

4. No official scorecard is present. The only source was an handwritten scorecard by a winning member

5. At first Belgium & Netherlands were to join too,but they backed out at the last moment.
6. This left only France & Britain to compete,so the organizers had initially awarded Britain with silver medal & France with Bronze, which were later upgraded to Gold & Silber respectively
7. All of players were also awarded with miniature statues of Eiffel Tower

8. This match doesn't have official first-class status #Cricket
