No one cares about heroes. Heroes are boring.

Why are heroes so boring, and villains interesting?

Villains are the ones who try to make things happen. Get stuff done.

Even if that "stuff" is to destroy the world, or wipe out civilization, villains are action takers.
It's easier to relate to villains, cause they're at least willing to carry out a plan.

Heroes, by comparison, are extremely uninteresting.

All a hero wants is for everything to stay the same.

The city shouldn't burn down.

The Earth shouldn't be destroyed.

No one should die.
But none of that is "doing" anything. It's all just conservation.

Imagine I said that my plan in life is to make sure that tomorrow, and every single day thereafter, is exactly the same as today.

Boring.

That's what heroes do, because heroes are boring.
I don't care what you want in life, but if you want to get anywhere you're going to need to be more like a villain than a hero.

You need to take action.

You need to throw away the hope of a tomorrow that looks like today.
You need to be willing to destroy everything you have, for the chance at getting what you want.
