More than a century ago, the Philippine revolution led by the Katipunan defeated the Spanish colonizers. But then the US arrived, took the old place of the Spaniards, massacred Filipinos, installed pro-US local agents, and then later on act as if it "granted" us our freedom. 1/5
This is a reminder because apparently, some people still believe that US military intervention in countries with political unrest is beneficial to those countries. Here's some news for them: THE US IS ONLY LOOKING OUT FOR ITS OWN IMPERIALIST INTEREST. 2/5
It is not rare for the US to conduct military intervention/sponsor armed rebellion or coup d' etat to another country, and later on install pro-US local leaders who will be its puppet. It's been doing this since the colonization era. 3/5
Military interventions do not only make US military industrial complex more profitable, it also secures US access to another country's resources -- all in the guise of its "manifest destiny" as giver of democracy. 4/5
This is all the while the US is supressing the victory of its host country's mass movement and depriving the local people of their rights to assert independence and determine their own future. 5/5
