THREAD: WHAT ABOUT CUSH?

Sudan announced that it is in talks to normalize relations with Israel.

Was asked if Sudan is genuine, considering Biblical Cush (i.e. land where White/Blue Niles converge, Isaiah 18:7) is mentioned in league with Gog in the invasion of Israel in Ex 38 https://twitter.com/SkyNewsArabia_B/status/1295734169750970370
First of all, I think it's helpful to keep in mind that these nations are not monolithic, and there's a complex narrative of Middle Eastern war and political intrigue in Daniel 11:21-39 that proceeds the Great Tribulation (Gog invasion) beginning in verse 40.
Initially, a northern confederacy that mirrors the ancient Seleucid Dynasty (Turkey, Leb, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc) is in view, which is in conflict with a southern confederacy that mirrors the Ptolemaic Dynasty (Egypt, Libya, Sudan, Arabia, Jordan).
Daniel 7:8 mentions 3 of 10 "horns" are "plucked up" (i.e. subdued before the "little horn." Daniel 11:42-43 suggests that these 3 are Egypt, Cush and Put (Libya) as the King of the North subdues those nations, likely in a combo of war and political maneuvering (Dan 11:25-28)
Therefore, Sudan and Libya's entrance into the Gog coalition may not be willing at first. There could be regime change involved, etc. Keep in mind that each "southern" nation has sizable radical Islamist populations that would subvert their governments at the opportunity.
We saw this in Egypt in 2012-14, and Dan 11 suggests usurpation within the ranks of the King of South (v 26).

So no reason to doubt that Arab govt's, including Sudan, are genuine in their peace with Israel for now. The "little horn" will eventually exploit that spirit of peace.
Correction: I meant Ez 38 in the first tweet, not Ex 38.
