I wonder if I could deprogram a Democrat from TDS on livestream. I’d start by asking them to make a list of national priorities.
Then I’d talk them through the list with the goal of showing them how many relevant facts their news sources leave out. The goal would be to weaken their confidence in their own opinion.
If the Green New Deal is a high priority, I’d point to California and Germany being failed experiments in green energy. And I’d update their knowledge about nuclear energy that is always lacking on the left.
If economics, healthcare, or open borders are on the priority list, I’ll ask them what happens when you give free healthcare to anyone who can cross the open border.
Coronavirus would be a topic, obviously. I’d ask them what Trump did that was not advised by experts. And I’d point out that balancing the economy with the health risks is the smart way to do it. And we don’t yet know what country will do that best.
From experience I know this would devolve into personal insults about Trump’s character and allegations from the distant past. That’s when I point out Biden’s broken brain and his many past and current lies.
I can’t turn a Democrat into a Republican in real time. But I could plant the seeds that might sprout someday. I think it could be done.
