You ever just remember random stuff from childhood? I remember going to coding camps with my brother when we were younger. The camp was fun but what really sticks with me is the random chaos food. The camp was run by two very country middle aged Black men (✊🏿s/o to my people)
It’s clear these men were never tasked with feeding children😂 The camp met every Saturday for about 6 weeks. They KNEW they’d have us around for lunch but they seemed to forget every time.
Y’all. They would get a bunch of subway subs and just divide them up. What trips me out to this DAY is that this man had the nerve to put *every* topping on a tuna sub. When asked why he had lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, spinach, banana peppers, olives, mayo, ketchup, mustard
(Not dome yet) bacon, avocado, carrots, cucumbers, broccoli, vinegar, oil, salt and pepper— this man said he got every topping so people could just take off what they didn’t want.

Y’ALL. THIS MADE AN IMPRESSION ON MY CHILDHOOD.
1. It’s the wildness of this towering tuna sub of just slop and mess
2. The fact that he wanted to make a space for everyone was beautiful
2a. Instead of asking everyone what they wanted he decided to give us everything when our consensus probably would’ve just been simple.
I remember a *little bit* of what they taught us about coding but DAMN I remember that sub. 👀😂
