Sometimes I wonder where I’d be if I wasn’t true to myself, just stayed in the box I was raised in, and gone with the flow. I’d have more “meetings” I’m sure, and I’d probably be leading a larger, established church. But every night, I’d have to deal with ME.
Knowing I wasn’t being true to myself. Knowing I was just taking the easy way out.

Now my circle of friends is much smaller. Some are much closer privately than they’d dare admit publicly. I’ve yet to find many pastor friends in this church culture I’m currently leading.
But I can sleep at night knowing that, the best I know now, I’m being true to who God has called me to be in this season of life. And I can rest easy.

All that to say: be true to who God has called you to be. It sucks sometimes. But it’s worth it.
