Today marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the #19thAmendment , guaranteeing and protecting women’s constitutional right to vote.

@GUGovt Professor @Jamil_Scott_ shares what the 19th Amendment anniversary means to her (a thread). #WomensVote100
"The anniversary of the 19th Amendment is an important time to consider the women who are often not discussed in the fight for women’s right to vote.
We often name Susan B. Anthony and Carrie Chapman Catt, but forget about the likes of Sojourner Truth, Mary Church Terrell, Ana Julia Cooper, Ida B. Wells and others. All of these women deserve their flowers.
While we can and should celebrate this moment and the promise that it held for women, we have to realize that in truth the franchise was not fully extended to all women until much later." #WomensVote100
