If you get comfortable in an environment that doesn’t truly HEAR you, you eventually forget how to speak.
If you have trouble speaking up for yourself, expressing your needs, asserting your desires, or speaking affirmations — examine if you grew up in an environment that invalidated your self-expression.
A few activities for if you’re learning to speak up for yourself,

• recite affirmations to learn to truly hear yourself (and your voice and your needs) first.
• find an outlet for all that pent up expression from your childhood
• create environments where you can be heard
Examples of “creating environments where you can be heard”

• speaking up, literally. Why are you mumbling?
• bond with people who validate/adjust their behavior to your emotional needs
• exiting discussions with people dedicated to misunderstanding you
