I get it. I turned 18 and Ronald Reagan became president. At the height of the AIDS epidemic, Clinton ascended to the presidency and then fucked over traditional Democratic constituencies in a Blairite can't-beat-em-join-em third way and did bupkis on AIDS.1/
We then got firestarter Bush and his wars that never end. Then we got Obama who better than all of them, still governed as an heir to Clinton not to FDR or any of the earlier heroes of the party. I voted for Bernie. Then Liz. Now we're back at Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. 2/
This is only part on the DNC and the Democrats. If we want a progressive movement we build it and frankly we haven't done it at any scale that has achieve national political power. But this moment is ripe. We've put candidates into office that are the best of what we want. 3/
We just have to keep going. Keep pushing work harder. Yes, I'll vote for Biden/Harris, and hope that I have the energy, time left in my life to keep fighting for the future I want, not the one I'll settle for in November. 4/
But Trump will end up leaving the place a crater of ashes, a heap of bones. He has to be vanquished, with no shadow of a doubt, we're not going back. end/
