1/ Passage of the #19thAmendment was an important milestone for our country. “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.”

But that is not the full story of voting rights for women...
2/ Who could vote in the USA -

1776: White landowning men
1856: White men
1920: White Women
1952: Asian Women
1957: Native American Women
1965: Black men
1965: Black Women

End of story? Not even close.
4/4 Black women have fought for too long on this issue.

"Even when Black women did not win all that they should be able to, they continued to fight & continued to struggle in service of this more perfect union"

We cannot let anything stand in their way of voting this year.
We also cannot forget that it took until 2020 for enough states to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment, with Virginia being the 38th.

True equality is still somehow a political debate, even though a majority of Americans, & 80% of Virginians, support the ERA.
