3/ Among other voter suppression tactics, the Shelby County v. Holder decision in 2013 allowed states to enact voter laws which disproportionately hurt communities of color.

We also cannot forget that it took until 2020 for enough states to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment, with Virginia being the 38th.
True equality is still somehow a political debate, even though a majority of Americans, & 80% of Virginians, support the ERA.
