Beyond the success of certain industries that have benefited during Covid, many gains are due to action taken by the Fed: low rates make stocks the most attractive asset, extremely cheap borrowing costs & the Fed buying up huge amounts of paper/backing businesses in trouble.
Meanwhile, 30,000 small businesses have closed & 30 million+ Americans remain out of work.
