Something folks who scoff at electoral participation should understand is that, as a jumping off point, most everyday people just aren't gonna vibe w the idea that they should fight politicians on various policy fronts, but also not weigh in about who those politicians should be.
That doesn't mean folks shouldn't share and/or teach people about those ideologies, or organize behind ideologies that do not subscribe to electoralism. But I think it does mean that scoffing is a bad jumping off point.
You cannot organize people who you hold in contempt. So unless folks think we already have the strength we need to fight fascism on all of our respective fronts, I think we all need to be thinking about effectively bringing more ppl in to do the things we think should be done.
We have not amassed the strength or solidarity we will need to effectively fight fascism on literally any front. The dangers we face will be ramped up to the hilt in the coming months. Regardless of how you feel about electoralism, we all know that part is true & we're not ready.
We have a whole lot of folks stuck in critique mode who need to be in action mode, mutual aid mode, eviction defense mode, antifascist organizing mode and, as much as you may hate it, coalition mode. This is true across the board.
