It's the 1st time ever recorded the Canadian Archipelago is acting like a full-capacity ice-drainage zone (100% open straits & channels).
Once they're open, their surfaces heat by 1°C/day or more. The CA will probably stay open until October, according to latent-heat projections.
- Amundsen Gulf
- Hazen Strait
- Maclean Strait
- Hassel Sound
- Byam Martin, Byam & Austin Channels
- Hassel & Massey Sounds
- Hendriksen Strait
- Belcher Channel
- Queens Channel
- Penny, Pullen & Crozier Straits
- Wellington Channel
- Peary & Sverdrup Channels
- Nansen Sound
Besides the CA the entire drainage capacity in the east (Nares Strait & Fram Strait) is warming most faster than predicted.

It keeps warming the northern part of Greenland (western & eastern glaciers).

And that's the main reason why a few glacier-fields are about to collapse.

- Zachariae Isstrom glacier:

- Petermann glacier:

Actually it's more important to understand all the details...

The pure physics are simple.

When you compare 2012 & 2020 it shows the real world-issue.

A BOE is imminent.
A warm Greenland is imminent.
Melt events at Greenland will cause Antarctic ice-shelf rises & collapses...
Arctic's condition this year compared to its condition 8 years ago
tells us everything:

- CA
- ESS
- Bering Sea
- Svalbard
- even Iceland

The deepest layers of the Arctic Ocean are warmer than ever.
The land surrounding the Arctic is warmer than ever.

Pics: 100m, 200m & 500m.
This is maybe only 1% of all information we have. But taking into account the other 99% it makes us say:

"BOE 2020 stays pinned to the 6th of September..."
± 8 days...
