🔸Electrolyzer = Nel model A485

🔸Hydrogen max. prod. rate = 485 Nm³/h

🔸Hydrogen density = 0.08988 kg/Nm³

🔸Hydrogen prod. energy = 61.2 kWh/kg

🔸Hydrogen range efficiency = 7.5 miles/kg

485 Nm³/h × 0.08988 kg/Nm³ = 43.6 kg/h or 1 ton/day

i.e. all 8 electrolyzers in Nikola's 8-ton per day fueling stations have to operate at max. output 24h a day, 365 days a year

⛔️ No margin to do "buffering" or not enough hydrogen gets produced to fuel the trucks. $NKLA

43.6 kg/h × 61.2 kWh/kg = 2,668 kW

i.e. each electrolyzer has to draw 2,668 kW of power, 24h a day, 365 days a year, to be able to produce 1 ton of hydrogen per day

⛔️ If Nikola wants to do some "buffering" it needs to add buffer-electrolyzers at $1 million each. $NKLA

400 miles ÷ 7.5 miles/kg = 53.3 kg of hydrogen

53.3 kg ÷ 43.6 kg/h = 1 h 13 min.

i.e. one electrolyzer has to operate for 1 h 13 min. to produce enough hydrogen to give a Nikola truck 400 miles of range. $NKLA

🔸Range = 500 miles

🔸Efficiency = less than 2 kWh/mile

🔸Charging = 400 miles in 30 minutes

800 kWh ÷ 0.5 h = 1,600 kW

i.e. Tesla Megacharger has to draw 1,600 kW of power for 30 minutes to give a Tesla Semi 400 miles of range. $NKLA

Nikola Two has to draw 2,668 kW of power for 1 hour & 13 minutes (3,262 kWh of energy) to get 400 miles of range

Tesla Semi has to draw 1,600 kW of power for 30 minutes (800 kWh of energy) to get 400 miles of range

No wonder @elonmusk called them Fool Sells! $NKLA
