Retail and driving postings slowed down notably, falling back to last year's levels. Beauty & wellness postings slipped, too.

Silver lining is that lagging sectors like hospitality, finance, & tech didn't lose ground.

The dip in postings was largest for lower-wage occupations, which had rebounded most since early May.

(Remember that _postings_ are down least for lower-wage jobs, though layoffs caused _employment_ to fall most for lower-wage jobs.)

The drop in job postings was widespread. Three-quarters of large metros lost ground. Honolulu, the Bay Area, and New York continue to have the steepest declines since the pandemic started.

Last week's drop in postings was steeper in small metros. Larger metros depend more on tech, finance, and other sectors that haven’t seen a recent drop in job postings.

Metros where cases surged this summer and other metros saw similar declines in job postings last week. It doesn't appear to be driven by local pandemic severity or local distancing guidelines.
