HOW THE POUND FACEBOOK GROUP GENERATED DONATIONS/BUSINESS WORTH MULTIPLE CRORES TO A BUNCH OF CROOKS!

How a bunch of FB friends used a Facebook page to exploit innocent people to run a business in the name of animal welfare.

The Facebook page got promoted as the mother of all dog and cat welfare page in Chennai.

The Pound with 40,000 patrons was a great platform to establish their business pretending to be saviors of streets dogs predominantly.

Starting with a great drama when two CMC boys threw a
puppy from the 3rd floor terrace.

The puppy obviously died, and our boys managed to pickup one of its siblings and named him as the survivor Badra.

He was then brought to Chennai with great fanfare & a bandage in his legs, which disappeared after the small drama at the Veterinary college.

It’s then the saviors became celebrities.

All of them Ventured into various business.

One who managed to bribe and take over Besant Memorial Animal Dispensary to support his commercial
venture ‘Hotel For Dogs’ boarding center.

The other went around to open Cloud 9 clinic for dogs and another too ventured into dog boarding business.

The Pound page was used as a business promotion tool and to promote themselves as the ONLY saviors of Chennai animal welfare.

Anyone who questioned their intentions immediately blocked from the page.

Animals in distress were immediately picked up the saviors, admitted in their clinics with a condition of fund raisers to save them.

Business was extremely good and all prospered.

Many expats including American School teachers (Chennai) were lured into this scam which even showcased
Wildlife rescues & rehabilitation.

The story successfully continued for several years, as rest of the community was left behind.

Every flood and Every calamity paid them great dividends.

They collected huge amount of donations in cash and kind.

The admins and the moderators.

Since they themselves never ventured into any direct welfare of street dogs, they started donating food to everyone who claims to be a feeder.

Thus, increasing further publicity & fanfare.

And then

COVID happened.

Figuring it will have a major impact and there will be lot more sympathy falling in for the street dogs, they got started with a fund raiser in the name of BMAD.

It started with 50 Lakhs which they achieved in few days’ time.

Immediately greed set it.

They raised it to 100 Lakhs and from there to 150 Lakhs and it’s 200 Lakhs where it stands today.

Already a sum of 1,71,50,000 achieved and it’s time to laugh their way to the bank.

This is when we figured out the nonsense and decided to expose them.

We tweeted about this page on the 17th of August at 00:00 p.m.

The very next day, there was a post of the Pound admins, stating that they are going to shut down the Pound page with 40,000 followers.

Our allegations proved right and we decided to warn all those who supported the crooked group who indulged in this lucrative business model and inform all innocent people, how they were taken
for ride.
