Of course there are no worthless degrees and no Mickey Mouse degree subjects but I do want to remind everyone quickly that all subjects are actually just forms of history, the ur-subject
Geography? The history of the planet! English Literature? Made up history! Media studies? The first draft of history! Physics? The Big Bang is the oldest history there is!
The less said about political “science“ the better (political history with added graphs)
Medicine is just a process of figuring out the individual biological history of every single person on the planet
Every time I say this people in other disciplines become furious but their fury is merely historiography
Gatekeeping is so unpleasant and passé, disciplinary expansionism is the way to go. Every person is a historian, every text is a gobbet, every object an artefact
