What will you do when your close friends and family, who ostracized you for getting into crypto and who think that stonks and land always go up, come to you after their 401k gets wiped out, savings inflated away, and their job gets automated?
I’m on the fence. I willingly took the social and financial capital risks of having a “long term” mindset. The fucked up thing is, by long term, I mean 5-10 years. Banks and funds are so obsessed with weekly and quarterly returns, they don’t even see what’s coming.
I went over the mountain in search of greener pastures.
I crossed the valley to see what it looks like from the other side.

They think long term means decades of S&P (spoiler alert, S&P basically correlates to the money supply.) Mate, do you honestly think any investment is guaranteed over a multi decade time scale now? If you do, you’re showing your antiquated mindset from the 19th and 20th centuries
“You’re just trying to make a quick buck with crypto.” No, asshole, I have a long term mindset and you don’t. You work an hourly job and take on loads of debt for shit you don’t need and can’t afford. I’m foregoing linear wages for exponential returns from new technology.
YOU’RE the one with high time preference. You’ve been tricked into thinking “well this is the way it is.” No, that’s how you stay poor like the majority of the population. You need to build technology. NOT taking risks is the biggest risk you can take.
Anyone who claims they’re thinking long term, many decades, is either an ill-informed dolt or a schizophrenic. Long term now means 5-10 years because it’s the 21st century and technology moves exponentially.
I jumped headfirst into crypto in early 2017 because the long term potential excited the fuck out of me. My enthusiasm payed off, temporarily. Then I got rekt for 2 years. But you know what, I’m still here and now I’m 2 years worth of research ahead of those who dropped out.
I started writing this uncertain about my poll decision, but now...jk, they can go fuck themselves. Looking forward to it.
You know what else? I’ll pump and dump shitcoins to high time preference idiots who want a quick buck ALL DAY so I can build my #Bitcoin
