Here’s what Real Madrid should so this transfer window, a thread:

Starting with the obvious: departures of James and Bale should be facilitated. Money won’t create itself, and that duo cuts quite heavily in the wages. Taking losses efficiently: sell for below worth, save wages.
During sales you look at what we need, do we have this profile in the club (don’t sell) and what can Madrid spend.

For example: a decent DM that’s satisfied being the rotation for Casemiro for at least 2-3 seasons. Camavinga and Marc Roca fit the profile. Antonio Blanco = free.
So rather than spending €40m on Camavinga, €15m on Marc Roca, you save at least €15m by promoting Antonio Blanco. Low risk, high reward. Decisions like these is what makes or breaks the Mbappé deal. PSG has “infinite” funds whereas Madrid has to pick its battles.
Currently Madrid needs a DM (one we can buy for free with very low wages), a right-back for when Carvajal gets injured and a 35/40+ G/A a season player. Odriozola has to be the rotational option for Dani, which leaves us with €0 spent this entire summer.
Moral of the story, we can wish for so many transfers, but Madrid is carefully calculating a big one, albeit Mbappé or someone else, Madrid wants to have funds available and ready to go when the puzzle pieces fall into place. Selling big names without crashing squad depth is key.
Real Madrid is set for the future btw, don’t need to convince yourself otherwise. You’ve got Ødegaard, Kubo, Reinier, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Valverde, Militao, Lunin, Brahim, etc. Madrid recruited so many names that it guarantees itself at least a few will become world beaters.
This club gave you 3 Champions League titles in a row and 4 in 5 years this decade. It gave you league points record and it gave you moments you will never forget. The least you can do is give the club some breathing room and patience building another decade of greatness.
