lemme say, i DO empathize w/ progressives rejecting biden. when bernie first dropped out i texted some friends “fuck everything, they can have trump” to which my friends very nicely helped me rethink how privileged & idiotic that statement was. i am here to be that friend for you

in four years, we WILL have another election. i encourage you to spend the next four years putting more progressives in all levels of government. we WILL get there, but not if we throw everything we’ve achieved out the window & embrace authoritarianism & division out of spite.

true progress takes time. it takes generations. & as appealing as it is, we cannot expect an overnight revolution or one person to fix all our problems. we must strive to always move forward, even minimally, to prevent backsliding to the point of no return.

if i may quote dumbledore: “it’s important to fight, & fight again, & keep fighting, for only then can evil be kept at bay, though never quite eradicated.” voting biden might not solve everything, but it will keep the insidious evil of trump at bay & allow us to continue fighting
