A CORONAVIRUS WARNING (thread)
So, yesterday, much to my surprise, I tested positive for Coronavirus. I woke up with very mild symptoms (bit of a headache, fatigue and a slight temperature). I assumed I was feeling run down from having not slept properly.

On Friday night I went to a pub for a friend's birthday. It was all socially distanced, bar staff wearing masks, anti bac liberally available. But it was indoors. I've been trying to avoid indoor places but didn't want to be "that guy" at the party...
My main reason for being confident though was based on the daily reported figures for Cardiff. Single figures every day for a few weeks now. What are the chances that the one or two new cases will bump into you and infect you? Especially when you don't go out that much.
I don't travel to an office to work, don't go out to the shops much, if at all, but wear a mask when I do. This one time had to have been safe, right?
Clearly not (if this is where I caught it). And weirdly, none of the people I've been with over the past week have had any symptoms at all so far (hoping it stays that way).
The excellent @LloydCymru produces daily stats on figures like so. You should really follow him. (I am now one of the new cases for Cardiff). However... I can only assume that there is a lot of asymptomatic spread.
So.. assume that it's still out there. Be super cautious going to indoor spaces (try not to). And don't end up like me. Although I'm feeling ok now, the sense of guilt I've got at potentially infecting my family is even worse than the illness.
Final point - if you have symptoms, even mild, then just go get tested. It's really easy. I had results back the next day after going to the Cardiff City Stadium. The test is slightly unpleasant, but over in a few seconds. You can get tested here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing-and-tracing/get-a-test-to-check-if-you-have-coronavirus/
