The #Chiefs were 20th in the NFL in the % of red zone drives ending in a touchdown.
Travis Kelce led the team in RZ targets with 19, but the next closest player had 7.
Do they need to establish a second RZ weapon to succeed more often in those scenarios? A thread:

Could it be Sammy? He showed such ability in Week 1 last year against Jalen Ramsey.
A slant to Sammy should probably be more utilized more. The throw just needs to be on target here. High and behind
But Sammy has also shown a lack of catch strength in these situations. Week 4 had a few examples
Another TD opportunity here. Not the greatest throw, but at some point, a big body like Sammy has to out-muscle the defender and bring this in
What about Tyreek? His speed and quickness give him a unique advantage in tight spaces like goal-to-go plays
Even in the snow, it's just hard to stay with him. Hill came in second on the team with 7 targets despite only playing 12 games.
How about Demarcus Robinson? He has examples of great jump ball ability and toe-tapping on the sideline, including this great effort
But he also only caught 2 of the 6 red zone targets he saw in 2019. This one could've put the #Chiefs up 14-0 in Week 6. These have to be caught
It's hard to imagine Mecole Hardman turning into a dependable red zone target due to his skillset. He gets a back shoulder here but doesn't have the frame or body to seal off his defender and go get it.
Pringle may have only seen 2 RZ targets in 2019, but one of them helped win the Week 4 game. Catch strength and the ability to absorb big hits are important traits for a RZ weapon
