A short thread. I'm not looking fir we wishes here (I know where the love is on here and I'm grateful for that.) Anyway, health update. Had a panicked call from my GP last night. Results back from my tests last week and I may need IV antibiotics. How do i feel? Fine
Initially quite shocked that they're suggesting I may need to be admitted!!! I actually had my T° taken yesterday when I called at work and in range. Symptoms slowly improving. Feeling maybe just under 80%, so that's over 100% for most people
One issue for me is that with my history of IV drug use (11 years ago) venous access is an issue. Reportedly they'd 'put a line in' but I've got stuff to do and feel OK ish. They agreed they'd call me back today
Which they did. I've been a fairly frequent at my GP practice. I've always gone out of my way to try & be nice. I like people. I've built up a rapport with some of the health professionals who've managed my issues over the years & I've tried not to be a complete fucking nuisance
So, this afternoon I get a call from my favourite Nurse Practitioner. She gives me a time to be in. They want bloods, my temp, BP and oxygen saturation. All of which are fine.
Any change phone them. Out of hours phone 111. Makes sure I know name of antibiotic and bacterium (I do).
Favourite phlebotomist weilds her 'butterfly' kit and after 4 goes gets bloods. CRP only. Back tomorrow. I have firm with symptom less high CRPs. Let's see what tomorrow brings
So, what's the point of this thread? It's about being a good patient and working with the hardworking professionals who look after us. Get to know them, be nice, drop off some chocolates, if it comes to a choice between clapping and pay rises, go for the pay rises. Ends, for now
