Why do people imagine that being an MP is a job? What do they think that "job" is - some kind of social worker or citizens' advice-style assistant for constituents, helping with housing problems, planning applications etc?
If being an MP were a job, why on earth would we have elections to pick MPs? Wouldn't that just be a ridiculous way to select them?
