As a 32 year resident of Branchburg and lifelong Somerset County resident, I am concerned that the present Branchburg Township Committee is not representative of the needs of the many and have become comfortably entrenched in their positions and mindsets.
Therefore I began a run for Township Committee by going door-to-door, in February, seeking signatures on my Nominating Petition from Democratic Branchburg residents.
Chatting with them, asking their opinions of our present Township Committee, and seeking opinions on changes they’d like to see. It was a wonderful experience.

I filed and announced my run to serve all residents of Branchburg to the best of my ability.
Since then, two major life changes were announced. My son and daughter-in-law will be having their first child in January. My husband will be retiring at the same time, after a 46 year career serving the citizens of Somerset County.

Major life changes, don’t you agree?
Therefore I am removing my name from the 2020 General Election ballot. I’m not disappearing, just making sure I can be there for my family. Thank you to the large numbers who showed such passion for my run. Your offers of support mean so much to me.
I’ll take you up on them in the future.

I’m not disappearing. I’ll just be in the audience, for now, with a mask on, or on a virtual meeting.
I’ll use my background in engineering, government service and procurement law plus my knowledge and skills as an expeditor to ask questions of the Committee or Board members so all residents are served well.
I encourage you to stay informed, wear a mask, and vote by mail.

Be the light,
Peg Kugler Amorosa
