Yesterday I tweeted a series of pictures of a beautiful newly-rebound Bible (courtesy of @Jefferyptlbibl1) but it sparked a series of questions and comments regarding Ryrie/Dispensationalism and my personal views.

A few clarifying thoughts...
/1
I used to punt on the eschatology question, calling myself a "leaky dispensationalist," but as I've studied Classic Dispensationalism I've come to realize that I don't personally hold to that system of theology. There are too many problems, IMO. (No, I won't elucidate here.)
/2
So, I'm not a Dispensationalist. However, I am premillennial in my eschatology. I would tend to agree with the views of Reformed believers like C. Mather, Ryle, Barnhouse, and James M Boice who, hold to the doctrines of grace, but see a number of future events to be fulfilled.
/3
Regarding Israel, I believe God is not done with them as a national people. In fact, read Calvin and Sproul on Romans 11 and you'll note that, while not monolithic, they see something future happening with Israel as well.
/4
One of the most obnoxiously fallacious statements I often hear from folks is: "You believe in two ways of salvation [if you lean Dispensationalist]." However, that is tacitly untrue.

There is one gospel, and one way of salvation through Jesus Christ. That applies to all.
/5
When I read Reformed scholars such as Sproul & Boice they're relentless when it comes to the problems of Disp'l theology, but they were always charitable and saw proponents as brothers.

Consider that Sproul & MacArthur were good friends; they didn't anathematize each other.

And so, I'm not going to do the popular thing and hide my theology, thus sterilizing my public profile to appear more palatable for everyone. I've got my views, and I've come to them studiously, cautiously, & prayerfully.

As a believer, however, I'm still learning & growing.
