As an early Harris supporter, I'm waiting for people rightly gushing over Michelle Obama to have the epiphany that she is in the mould too. For a black woman to rise to high office, you have to be an over-achiever on all aspects. From "likability" to domain knowledge to steel.
If you take time to look up Senator Harris' life, thoughts, record, career, anything. And I mean look it up yourself, not read breitbart/reason/Shapiro/Rogan types... there is nothing real to attack. Just like with Barack Obama.
So the straw they clutch at is her prosecutor role.
The simplistic, sophistic, and poorly researched position there is, she was a prosecutor. American justice system is harsh and racist. Ergo her being prosecutor, district attorney, attorney general makes her one of the bad folks. Automatically. That's the underlying hate pitch.
Whereas if you actually look at the objective facts, numbers, and even opinions from many of her legal career rivals, she was pretty much exactly the kind of prosecutor/DA/AG we need. Holding her up to utopian standards in those roles is double standards that black women face.
You'll see a lot of "oh look at this this case where she put away an innocent man" hot takes from the breitbart/reason crowd. So we spend more air time defending her in detail. While the man who pardoned Joe Arpaio gets to run roughshod over the narrative. Don't give in.
