I also think a short attention span isn’t new for 14-16 year olds. I “watched” when I was kid, but not really. I didn’t start really paying attention until my college years, and I definitely wasn’t paying for cable or league pass during those years.
I’ll be honest with you guys. If the Suns weren’t on MY45, a free channel, in 2005 when I moved to Phoenix, I’m not sure I’d be a Suns fan now. I was a broke 18 year old and streams weren’t around yet.
