I'm a pragmatist. I look at everything in terms of usefulness. I rarely make a judgement based on pure ideology.

Pragmatic feminism is the least popular thing on earth. Literally. And what's sad is, it's the most necessary, on a global level.
Academic feminism gets caught up in theory. Activist feminism gets hung up on making a statement.

When what most women, the ones imost crying for help, really need is basic shit to get them out of danger and help them survive.
For every feminist, including myself, ranting on this platform, there's, I dunno, a hundred? a thousand? women on this planet just trying to find a safe place to nurse their child or take a piss without getting raped.
We've got problems as women in this country and they're bad. But none of us has any business acting pure or righteous about it, or telling another woman her opinion doesn't matter.

So, let's solve the Kasich debate with a pragmatic global feminist perspective:
American politics is still dominated by white men, whether we admit it or not. We are going to have to contend with a bunch of white male ego bullshit to get anything done in the near future. It sucks.

We are also absolutely entitled to push back against that.
White women are *obligated* to push back against it, even.

But as feminists, what we all need to remember is that *at the moment*, our goal is to get a functional U.S. government. Not only to protect *us*, but because women around the world *depend on us*.
We're far from perfect at international aid and leadership. But like it or not, until Trump, the world looked to *us* for leadership on human rights, aka women's rights. We have to get back to that.

So just cool the fuck out. We need each other and the world needs us.
