Trump thoroughly misunderstands Susan B. Anthony’s 1872 claims, if he thinks he can pardon her while doing all else he is.
In 1872, Anthony cast a ballot: it was part of a collective effort by the women’s rights movement to argue they’d *already* had been granted the vote.

Their claim then was that 14th amendment had already enfranchised them by granting voting to ALL citizens. (They pointed to Privileges or Immunities Clause.)
Anthony gave speeches right before her actual trial: “is it a crime for a US citizen to vote?” https://voicesofdemocracy.umd.edu/anthony-is-it-a-crime-speech-text/

SCOTUS then rejected that; guarantee that all citizens have a vote was never added.
So being a US citizen is still NOT viewed as sufficient to vote. It IS still crime for a US citizen to vote.
Crystal Mason was sentenced to 5 yrs in prison for daring to think she was eligible.

So the way to honor the collective direct action that Anthony was part of is to finally do justice to the idea that every citizen should have the right to vote, period.
In fact I wrote about 1872 and what it means in @nytopinion two years ago: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/22/opinion/new-jersey-voting-rights-felons.html

Coda: Here's a *different* case where a citizen now faces prison for having voted.
"Is it a crime for a U.S. citizen to vote?" Anthony asked in her 1873 speech arguing NO: what she thought 14th amendment did.
But our governments treat it like it can. https://twitter.com/srl/status/1285713918636130304
