Great thread.

From my personal experience, I've found only 2 issues with modern medicine. And both of these, I think are related to how it is practiced and not an with modern medicine itself. https://twitter.com/drcheruvarun/status/1294648131762532353
1/2 Most doctors here in India prescribe medicines, for some conditions, without really validating a need for them.

I have been prescribed antibiotics for strep throat lot of times when I only had a viral infection. The doctors didn't even see my throat.
2/2 Doctors haven't tried to find out the root cause for my illnesses.

I have sebhorraeic dermatitis and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. I was prescribed anti-fungals for the skin issue and Rifaximin for SIBO.

Feels like only treating the symptoms and not the cause.
I'm curious to hear your perspective on these @drcheruvarun. I'm not trying to blame or criticize anything, just curious about my blind spots.
Another issue I've noticed is that doctors have tended to disregard my personal experience.

I'm like "I feel this when I have this medicine". The doctor would say: "That's not possible"

I'm internally thinking: how can you be sure about anything? The human body is so complex.
