THREAD: detailing conclusions of Senate Intel final Russia report, Volume 5.

First thought: this thing is expansive. Here is the table of contents on all the topics they covered.
The first findings are typical: Manafort was a “grave counterintel threat” because of his deep ties to Russia. Putin directed hacking campaign to hurt Hillary, help Trump.

Here’s the first interesting section: Stone and Trump.
On Stone and Trump discussing WikiLeaks: “The Committee could not reliably determine the extent of authentic, non-public knowledge about WikiLeaks Stone shared with the Trump campaign.” Implies people lied to the Committee.
Russians at the Trump Tower Meeting with Don Jr. had “significant connections to the Russian government, including Russian intelligence services. The connections the Committee uncovered, particularly regarding Natalia Veselnetskaya, were far more extensive than publicly known.”
Nothing new on the Trump Tower Moscow project. However, the same point is made: “During the summer of 2016, efforts to advance the deal stopped.”
On Papadopoulos, the Committee concludes that while it cannot prove George told the Trump Campaign about Hillary dirt he learned about abroad, they find it “implausible that [he] did not do so.”
On Carter Page: “Many allegations regarding Page’s 2016 activities in Russia as well as almost all assertions about Page in the Steele dossier remain unverified.”
Quite a crew: membership in the joint defense agreement that Cohen and Flynn (allegedly) broke away from consisted of Donald Trump, Trump Jr., The Trump Org, Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump, Paul Manafort, the Trump Campaign, Keith Schiller, Hope Hicks, Michael Flynn and Felix Sater.
The Committee considered immunity for Gates, Flynn, Papadopoulos, Manafort and Patten and asked Rod Rosenstein to attend Cmte hearing to discuss this in Dec. 2018. He refused in Jan. 2019, citing ongoing Mueller probe. The Mueller probe formally ended weeks later.
What is Collusion?

“Manafort sought to secretly share internal Campaign information with Kilimnik. Manafort briefed Kilimnik on sensitive Campaign polling data and the Campaign's strategy. Gates used an encrypted messaging app to send additional Campaign data to Kilimnik.”
NEW: “The Committee obtained some information suggesting Kilimnik may have been connected to the GRU's hack and leak operation targeting the 2016 U.S. election.”
