In the morning today I went for my PrEp appointment at the clinic. My nurse made me realize thay I have been PrEp for over 2years. 😀 the aim is to stay HIV Negative.
He saluted me for not defaulting and staying negative. He told me that some of his patients get infected because they take it once in a while.
So I thought I should share my journey, maybe it might help you or one of your followers.

I started PrEp 2 years ago when I started dating a gentleman that was on PrEp. He gave me his reasons which made sense to me. It happened that I follow @sindivanzyl 😀
She shared a thread about PrEp. I had already started but I still needed more information. See thread attached. https://twitter.com/sindivanzyl/status/1041507415873789953
People usually ask me about side effects.

When I started I was given one “bottle” of 28 pills and I was told to come back after a month because they ran tests.

In that period I used to wake up with mild headaches. I shared this with my then nurse and...
She told me to drink a lot of water when I am taking the pill. I used to sip water and throw it in. Swallowing has never been a problem, fam.

I did that and I never experienced any side effects.
This might not work for others. Some time ago I read a thread about PrEp side effects. See attached: https://twitter.com/njabs_msft/status/1271128775657472004?s=21
There other people that are happy with PrEp. See tweet: https://twitter.com/tee_mabed/status/1216699685022392321
DR @sindivanzyl did another thread about PrEp: https://twitter.com/tee_mabed/status/1216699685022392321
One of the reasons I shared my experience is because of the reports as per the tweet attached https://twitter.com/safmnews/status/1198184204732977154
How effective is PrEp? I am no DR, I read on what can save me. See link https://twitter.com/mas1banda/status/1217820376153100289
PrEp may protect you from HIV but not other STIs? https://twitter.com/men_engage/status/1197100775245275138?s=21
A person I have seen tweeting about PrEp: https://twitter.com/phumlani_prep/status/1262812421057585154?s=21
@__MJDr advocates for PrEp and has always been available for me when I want to chat/ask about it. https://twitter.com/__mjdr/status/1217157261627461633
I get PrEp from a public clinic. @__MJDr can share the process of accessing it via Medical aid if possible.

If you have questions you may ask Ask @Phumlani_PrEP @sindivanzyl and @men_engage .
