I'm experiencing cognitive dissonance this morning. All the teachers I know love what we do, but this year we have been the subjects of such negativity, blatant lies and degradation that it's hard to be excited about the upcoming school year (not to mention Covid19...) #onted
We work with children and teens and one of the most important aspects of our job is to spark the love in learning in our students. That involves feeling joyful and spreading that to our students. By constantly being berated by our gov, it's really hard to feel joyful. #onted
We are in a time in history where our children need joy more than anything since for many of them, they will be coming back to us having experienced some sort of trauma or at the very least, they've been very scared. Many staff will also feel the same but we will do #onted
what we need to do to help our students with their issues and then we will help them love learning again. My school board is doing everything in their power to make it a safe return for everyone and it is so appreciated since that brings me some hope and inspiration. #onted
I really wish that we were ALL building each other up and working together to make this the best experience for everyone heading back to the classroom. At the very least, I am grateful for the people in my building and my school board since we put people first. #onted
