Fantasy Premier League.

Everything I've learned.

A thread.
Know your target at the beginning of a season.

Be realistic from the outset whether you're in it to win it or playing for fun.

This decision will determine both the amount of time you'll spend per GW plus the amount of stress you'll endure throughout the season.
Follow (& listen) to a select amount of FPL accounts.

Over-saturation in FPL is very real, if you read too many opinions you'll likely find multiple different answers to any question. Follow and listen to those you trust.

If you're playing for fun, this decision is much easier.
Stay involved.

It's hard to get back up if you've had a disaster of a few GW's, you must then decide whether to stress yourself out of that situation or laugh it off and revert to just having fun with it.

Know your team limits and expectations.
Literally millions of people are playing FPL, it's OK not to be OK at it.

For the more casual players, the "fun" element comes from your players scoring goals - load up on attackers, have fun with it. It's your game.

More serious players know that defences can win leagues.
If you are indeed in it for the win, there really is no "right" answer for the first few weeks at least.

Everyone is taking educated punts.

Only once form sets in can you really see the "best" FPL players rise to the top.

That rise can happen late, keep with it.
"But it's only a game"

Exactly, treat it as such if you've not invested money.

Mini-leagues and cash-leagues inject pressure - which - a lot of us thrive under.

Don't despair if you're losing, then choose to take punts, aim for differentials - have fun.
Team bias WILL determine whether you succeed in FPL.

If you prefer (or not) a team solely based on your favourite team, choices you make with your FPL team based on that are rarely going to end up rewarding you.

You must remain unbiased to succeed, follow form, follow stats.
Have a great week? Shout about it!

Crash and burn one GW? Move on! Ask for tips!

Get involved in the #FPLCommunity - there's an abundance of accounts itching to talk to you.
First time in FPL?

Stand out! Grab a cool graphic from the wide variety of artists (me included) to make your profile pop.

FPL in your header/@ really helps build presence in this community.
Been here a while?

Keep smashing it! You're here for a reason - Twitter lets us all enjoy FPL with like-minded accounts which keep us entertained throughout the 38 GW's ahead of us.

Freshen up! Many accounts spring clean their account pre-season - why not yours?
Try something unique.

I'm still trying to nail this - but you'll notice many accounts that stand out are doing something "different".

Be that unique graphics, or stats, or ways of looking at FPL - try and see if you can uncover a way of showcasing FPL in a way you haven't seen.
Interactions.

FPL (on Twitter at least) is all about engagement, interacting with one another.

If you don't want an opinion on your team - give it to others. Comment on stats, reply to fun content and spread the good, positive atmosphere we have here in the #FPLCommunity.
Be kind, be humble.

Nobody likes a smart arse, we're all here for FPL and we don't want to push people away.

Our community is wholesome, have fun within it and try to be positive even when criticising.

FPL was made for us, fans, so let's treat it with the respect it deserves!
Enjoy the season ahead, get involved in as many leagues, communities, conversations and debates as you can - who know's maybe one of your 100+ punt picks will come good!

HAVE FUN & Good luck for the 20/21 Season ✌
