So some people have decided I should be dragged through the mud for posting my pic in the ‘hot leftists’ thread. I am getting all kinds of rude/gross comments after some posted about the thread & RT’d my pic. Not sure if I should block, report or delete my post? Seems like (cont)
they mostly/entirely have focused on me, an overweight woman, as if to say it’s bad for me to have any scraps whatsoever of self-esteem (the pic had some lovely comment & +200 likes & I think it’s pissing them off). I didn’t see anyone else getting abuse, thankfully. But I don’t
really want to send the message by deleting my post that they’re right, that someone outside their ideal can’t be considered attractive by others. And I don’t want to reinforce that anyone deserves abuse for just existing & will capitulate to their whims.
I don’t consider myself ‘hot;’ I said as much. But people I know & like we’re participating & showing their faces & I wanted to as well. That’s not a crime & I shouldn’t be hounded or abused for playing along. It’s a shame some people think that sort of behaviour is ok.
Update: went back to check on some friends who I found out have also been targeted & saw 2 right-wing ppl made a point of saying nice things about my pic (1 also said maybe they should do a RW version of the thread). Perhaps trying to draw a line between all RWers & fash cretins.
