I might make a longer thread on Koeman's tactics but here are some short thoughts and a slightly positive spin.

As a whole, I don't think he's ideal, far from it, but no one is right now and for that reason, he can still be a good choice. After all, the bar is now quite low. 1/
He's expected to fail anyway and his tenure will be a big transitional period in which he has to do his best to make the job of his successor that much easier (Xavi, Pimienta whoever).

I don't expect trophies and neither should you. A win for us would be this team getting in...
shape and mentally ready to move forward. Koeman can do that and 'enforce' his will - clean up the dressing room, promote young players and just revive the hunger and motivation among the group.

He still might get sacked if he fails to win anything but for the first time in...
forever, winning something might just not be the point. It's about development, a restructure, a rebuild, whatever you want to call it. And that takes more than a year.

If he manages to do any of the aforementioned things, I'd still call it a win in my book. And then, with a...
clean slate, Xavi can start building a dynasty once again. And it'll be much easier for him if Koeman sets the foundations of a winner's mentality and gives him a young and motivated squad to work with.

Sacrifices will have to be made, both in players and likely trophies.
But personally, I'm open to both happening if it saves the club from plunging deeper into the abyss. Of course, we'll still be expected to challenge for LaLiga or Copa and that's fine but with less pressure and even smaller expectations.

At the end of the day, there is something
exciting in all of this. It might be really sour and difficult to swallow but I do believe it can be an interesting project.

Stay tuned for a tactical breakdown of Koeman's approach soon-ish.
