Shower thought:
Why every A-listers actors/actresses > 35 years old, had their breakthrough role and rose to stardom in their 20s?

Meanwhile the good actors/actresses in their 20s right now still considered as rookie?

I think their chances to shine are robbed.
I will start by quick analyzing of 2000s hit movie/drama.

My Sassy Girl (2001)
- One of the top five highest-grossing films ever at the time
- My Sassy Girl sparked an international breakthrough for Korean cinema, and it played a key role in the spread of the Korean Wave
- Jun Jihyun was 20 years old at that time and she already had her breakthrough role and put her status as Hallyu Star.
The Classic (2003)

- From the same director of My Sassy Girl
- This movie is literally The Classic of romance movie
- Son Yejin, Cho Seungwoo and Jo Insung had their breakthrough role in this movie.
- Son Yejin was 21 years old
- Cho Seungwoo was 23 years old
- Jo Insung was 22 Years old

Can't believe this masterpiece was potrayed by rookies.
Autumn In My Heart (2000)

- The series was averaging viewership ratings of 38.6% and reaching a peak viewership of 46.1%.
- It is considered a pioneer in Korean melodramatic series, launching a worldwide fever that is commonly referred to as the "Korean Wave"
The three actors had their breakthrough role through this drama and rose to stardom and secure their Hallyu Status.

- Song Seunghoon was 24 years old
- Song Hyekyo was 19 years old
- Wonbin was 23 years old
My Lovely Kim Sam Soon (2005)

- The romantic comedy-drama with an average viewership rating of 37.6%, and its peak rating of 49.1% (for the finale) makes it one of the highest rated Korean drama of all time
- Hyunbin breaktrough drama
- Hyun-Bin's character Hyun Jin-Hun was scripted as something of a perfect man and because of this Hyun-Bin became even more popular with female viewers of the series
- Hyun Bin was 23 years old
How about the actors/actresses that made their debut in the 2010s?

- Kim Soohyun made his breakthrough role in drama The Moon That Embraces The Sun/ movie Secretly Greatly (24 years old) and secure his hallyu status in My Love From The Star (25-26 years old)
- Song Joongki made his breakthrough role in drama The Innocent Man/Nice Guy and movie A Werewolf Boy (27 years old) then secure the hallyu status in Descendant of The Sun (31 years old)
- Park Seojoon
I would considered his breakthrough role in Fight My Way and the movie midnight runners (29 years old)

-He secure his hallyu status in Itaewon Class imo bcs even my non-kdramafan friend know him from IC (He was 32 years old)
The pattern is shifted. I am not talking about luck/fate whatsover. I am talking about chance, about the opportunity.

- the 2000s
They were only 19-24 years old at that time yet they already secure their status as hallyu star
- the 2010s
They got their breakthrough and hallyu status in late 20s or early 30s and we hardly see the rookies in early 20s who hit the jackpot rn because imo their chances are bing robbed by casting someone based on the popularity.
Casting someone whose occupation is not actors/actresses is the main reason why we can't see more rookie actors. The actors/actresses will just be an extra/ a friend of the main lead which is unfortunate. On top of that, if they can't act. It's just double kill. Sorry not sorry.
Until when will Nam Dareum played the younger counterpart of the main lead who has traumatized past?
